BEST OUTDOOR DINING IN FAIRHOPE, AL: 10 SPOTS

Fairhope has some of the most beautiful scenery in the Southeast, so it is only fitting that so many of its best restaurants have the outdoor space to match.

Waterfront sunsets, garden patios, courtyards that feel like Italy, and a bar right on the pier. Here are ten of the best places to dine outside in Fairhope, whatever kind of view you are after.

The Hope Farm

The setting: Garden patio on a working farm.

The Hope Farm has some of the most picturesque outdoor dining in all of Fairhope. Sitting on a little over an acre, it is a farm-to-table experience like no other, with much of what is on your plate grown right on the property. Whether it is date night, hosting out-of-town guests, or just an evening to relax, it is casual, elegant, and delicious all at once.

Sunset Pointe

The setting: Waterfront deck over Fly Creek Marina.

The name says it all. Sunset Pointe at Fly Creek Marina has one of the best sunset dining views in America, and the food and drinks more than hold up. The large outdoor deck is the place to be as the sun drops over Mobile Bay. Arrive about forty-five minutes before sunset and ask for a spot on the deck.

Blind Tiger

The setting: Right on the Fairhope Pier.

You cannot get much closer to the water than this. Blind Tiger sits right on the Fairhope Municipal Pier, which makes it one of the most scenic spots in town for a drink and a bite. Bay breezes, open water, and that famous Fairhope sunset, all from your table.

Panini Pete’s

The setting: French Quarter style courtyard.

Tucked into a courtyard that feels straight out of the French Quarter, Panini Pete’s is a classic Fairhope outdoor spot. Famous for its sandwiches and the beignets served with a fresh squeeze of lemon, it is a charming place to sit outside for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. Just expect a line, since the secret has been out for years.

Little Bird

The setting: An incredible porch.

Little Bird, the work of five-time James Beard nominee Chef Bill Briand, has one of the prettiest porches in town. Set in a restored historic home, it is the place for elevated coastal Southern food in a setting that feels both special and welcoming. The porch is the seat to request when the weather is right.

Locals

The setting: Tuscan courtyard in an alleyway.

A meal in the courtyard at Locals is more like a trip to Italy. Tuscan-style terracotta tiles and cobblestone elevate the whole experience, and the alleyway setting with its own bar is one of the most charming in Fairhope. Locally sourced ingredients and great food make it a favorite for dining al fresco.

Kingfisher

The setting: Under the live oaks.

Kingfisher serves up Louisiana cuisine in a setting shaded by gorgeous live oaks. Think gumbo, fried catfish, and the kind of Gulf Coast cooking that pairs perfectly with an afternoon outdoors. The tree-canopied seating gives it a relaxed, distinctly Southern feel.

Ox Kitchen

The setting: Picnic tables and lawn chairs, family friendly.

When you are craving one of the best burgers in Fairhope, Ox Kitchen is the place. With outdoor picnic tables and lawn chairs, it has a laid-back, family-friendly outdoor area, especially good for the little burger lovers in your group. Casual, fun, and easy.

Bill E’s

The setting: Casual outdoor spot on Highway 181.

Open seven days a week, Bill E’s is a casual, laid-back outdoor spot for amazing burgers, sandwiches, and more. The smell of that famous small-batch bacon smoking, a little live music from time to time, and great food and drink make it a memorable hang. Grab some bacon to take home on your way out.

Dragonfly Foodbar

The setting: Casual patio seating.

Dragonfly Foodbar is where creativity meets cuisine, with globally inspired dishes and a Southern twist. The patio seating makes it a fun, casual place to eat outside. Do not miss the tempura turnip fries with miso ketchup, an unexpected favorite that keeps people coming back.
